We would like to host a meeting to inform you of the various programs that involve your American Indian students. Those programs include JOM, Impact Aid, Title VI and IEFA. We were hoping to hold this meeting in Lame Deer to make it easier for the people living there to attend. We recognize at this time that the Northern Cheyenne Reservation is being hit very hard by Covid and we respect that so we are still having the meeting, but at this time it will have to be held by Zoom. We hope you understand and when the schools open up on the reservation, we will plan to hold a meeting there in person.

SUPERINTENDENT ALERT: At approximately 1:10 PM today, Pine Butte Elementary was evacuated due to smoke in a second grade classroom. The Colstip Fire Department responded while Maintenance Director, Robert Whitehead was able to identify the problem as an electrical motor in the heating and ventilation unit in the ceiling of the classroom. The source of the smoke was confirmed by the Fire Department. Students were brought back into the building at 1:35 PM. The Fire Department was able to remove the residual smoke while classes resumed. Special thanks to the Colstrip Firemen for their immediate response and to all those involved in maintaining the safety of our students at Pine Butte Elementary School.
SUPERINTENDENT REMINDER: There is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Friday, November 19, 2021 due to Teacher Training and Work Day. Once again, there is no school tomorrow. Please stay safe and healthy.

FBMS Girls Basketball has been cancelled this weekend. Next FBMS basketball game will be Tuesday 11/23 home vs Huntley Project start time 4:30 PM.
FBMS Wrestling will travel to Baker Friday 11/19 start time 2:00 pm bus will leave at 9:30 AM from FBMS and then Laurel 11/20 start time 9:00 AM bus will leave at 6:00 AM and travel South.

CHS Winter sports start tomorrow Thursday 11/18. Practice for Wrestling, Cheer, and Boys Basketball will be from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the High school. Girls Basketball will have late practice from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
*** At this time there will be no activity bus for travel to and from practices.****
Your athlete needs all paperwork turned into dragonfly account or they will not be able to practice. If they played a fall sport it will all transfer over. If they have not played a sport yet this year they need to have all paperwork on dragonfly. If you happen to have problems have your athlete bring their physical into the office and we can help.
All information can be found on the school website under the news feed. Game schedules are posted and tenative practice schedules as well.

Winter sports start Thursday 11/18. Please make sure all paperwork is uploaded to dragonfly by the parent or guardian. Your student athlete must have a current school year physical done by a health care provider before they are able to practice.

Parents/Guardians:
If your child is running late in the morning for school, past 8:10, please bring them into the office and sign them in. This is considered an excused tardy. If your child comes in to school past 8:10 on their own, this is considered an unexcused tardy. If your child comes to school past 8:20, your child is considered absent from first period.
If your child will be absent from school for the day, please notify the FBMS office. They will then be considered an excused absence from school. If you do not notify the FBMS office, you will receive an automated attendance call and they will be considered an unexcused absence. Thank you for your help with our attendance.
PBES Book Fair
Please visit the book fair this year during parent teacher conference November 10th and 11th, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Each student will be shopping and they are developing their wish lists! Keep in mind to purchase some great Christmas presents!
PBES Turkey BINGO
Sponsored by the PBES Student Council
November 17th from 6 to 8 p.m., at Pine Butte Elementary, the PBES Student Council will be sponsoring TURKEY BINGO. This will be a family night of fun with refreshments and BINGO. There will be eight turkeys raffled off during the evening of BINGO. Each BINGO will have a prize awarded and 1 turkey will be raffled off every 15minutes. Must be present to win!
For the evening, please bring a non-perishable food item for the event, which will be collected by PBES Student Council to be donated to the Colstrip Food Bank. The event will take place in the school gym at PBES, see you on the 17th of November from 6 to 8 p.m.

When : December 16th
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Where: High School Auditorium
All 3-5 students are asked to report to their assigned room at Colstrip High School no earlier than 6:45 for their winter concert the night of the 16th. Please do not drop off your student until AFTER the K-2 concert is completed as there will be no supervision for them until 6:45. The concert will begin promptly at 7:00. Students will return to their assigned room after singing. If your student is watching the K-2 program please have them stay with you until the program has ended. There will be staff at CHS to assist you in finding your student’s room.
