SUPERINTENDENT ALERT: Due to a semi-truck blocking Highway 39 on the south side of Cow Creek Road, Speedy and Garfield buses will not be running out-of-town today. Once again, Speedy and Garfield bus routes will not be picking up out-of-town students today. All out-of-town students who ride the Speedy and Garfield bus routes will not be counted absent. Student living in town will follow the two hour delay for bus pick-up.
SUPERINTENDENT ALERT: Colstrip Public Schools will modify bus routes that travel on Highway 212. Highway 212 is currently closed. Buses will not travel Highway 212 to pick up students. Buses will stop at their Lame Deer and Ashland stops. Students with stops along Highway 212 will not be counted absent today. Please be safe.
SUPERINTENDENT ALERT: Due to current weather conditions, Highway 212 is currently closed. Colstrip Public Schools will have a two hour late start to allow for safe travel. All buses and classes will run two hours behind schedule this morning, December 14. Please travel safe.
LATE START PROTOCOL:
The Colstrip Public Schools will run a late start schedule for all schools on severe weather days as determined by the Superintendent or designee. The late start schedule provides the flexibility to begin school two hours later than normal, allowing time for roads to be cleared and temperatures to rise. This alternative eliminates a situation where severe weather in the early morning leads to a decision to close schools for an entire day when it is not warranted.
Keeping safety as the district’s top priority, all schedules will remain as close to a regular day as possible. In the event of a late start, the following will apply:
Bus transportation will run routes with student pick-up times as close to a two-hour (2 hour) delay as safely possible
School start times will be adjusted by the two-hour delay
No breakfast will be served
No special needs pre-school
All building-level administrators and non-teaching “exempt” personnel and key support staff will report to work as scheduled insofar as is safely possible.
