Hello Everyone!
My name is Bart Bailey, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of Pine Butte Elementary School. It’s a privilege to join such an amazing community of students, staff and families.
I grew up on a family ranch south of town on Rosebud Creek and attended school in Colstrip, where I was part of the first graduating class from the new high school. After earning my degree from MSU, I began my teaching career in Presho, SD. I later married Holly Bailey and moved to Hailey, ID, where I taught for 17 years. During that time, we were blessed with four children: Trudy (Jake) Weaver, Chari (Peter) Hustis, Spencer (Jandi) Bailey, and Kinzie (Her dog Bert). We also have six wonderful grandchildren: Ryett, Talyn, Harland, Sloan, Huxley and Emryn.
I earned my Master’s Degree from the University of Idaho and then returned home to serve as the high school principal at St. Labre for seven years. Following that, I spent two enriching years as the high school principal in Cody, WY. Wanting to be closer to my parents, I moved back to St. Labre, where I served in various roles, including Technology Coach, Elementary School Principal and Curriculum Director, over the next seven years.
With a wealth of diverse experiences, I am excited to bring my knowledge and passion to Pine Butte Elementary. I look forward to serving and growing in our wonderful community.
